Equine Assisted Home Education sessions for those youngsters not on school roll nor in regular school hours (NEET)

6 week Course for those youngsters in HomeEd and/or Primary Age students in age range 4-10yrs.

The FULL course will be held on Tuesday mornings 10.30am until 12.30midday from the 14th April 2026 to the 19th May 2026 inclusive (6 weeks)

Students will take part in EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) hands on Horsemanship activites with our wonderful herd of Mini Shetlands and EAL ponies.

Activities are engaging and exciting mainly practical skills together with outdoor pursuits for their health and well-being both on the ground and mounted sessions.

Youngsters will develop over the weeks communication skills and learning about working as a team with other equestrians when handling the ponies.

The days will include theory/practical time with worksheets (optional) to include activities such as problem solving and encouraging creative tasks.

By the youngsters being involved in the day to day care of an animal they will by measured use of feedstuffs, providing food and water and reading instructional posters fulfill many of the HEd requirements. 

The course will consist of a 6 x week term of horsemanship and riding and will contain evaluation throughout the term.

If parents are unable to commit to the full 6  weeks there is an option to attend on a day basis for later dates individually, These will go out if places are available following the course bookings.

Facilitators are Enhanced DBS certificated and all hold Full Working with Children Safeguarding Certificates.

All safety hats and Horsemanship equipment is provided.

Refreshments will be available throughout the sessions but a snack box is useful for the childrens breaktime. 

A parent or guardian must be on site throughout the session for this age group or alternatively a nominated person.

Tea and coffee is provided for parents and nominees.
