Research has shown that being with horses, and horse-riding, has the potential to benefit children with autism in many areas including verbal and non-verbal communication, social interaction, motivation, attention and eye contact.

It also improves motor skills, assists sensory integration, increases confidence and has a calming effect, as well as being a fun and healthy physical activity!

Horses do the work of teaching and healing through a variety of equine assisted applications which include education through demonstration and discussion, youth at risk programs, alcohol & drug recovery programs, coaching, and workplace training.

Individuals with a variety of training and experience enter the field of teaching and healing with horses including counsellors, educators, health practitioners, coaches, virtual school development professionals, as well as professional horse people.
